Article - The National Camping and Caravanning Week is just around the corner

To all fellow campers out there – it is upon us, the National Camping and Caravanning Week (NCCW). It’s that time of year when we’re well into spring, and even though we’ve seen some beautiful sunny weather, we are still being hassled by cloud and rain every now and again. These weather excuses though are getting old and we shall not let it dampen our mood; especially with NCCW just over a week away. We not only have a bank holiday weekend to look forward to, but we now have NCCW – which commences on the 30^th of May (Bank Holiday Monday) and ends on the 5^th of June. Jot those dates in your diary and HEAD OUTSIDE (like what we did there?).

What is National Camping and Caravanning Week?
NCCW is part of The Camping and Caravanning Club's ambition to encourage the British public to emerge from hiding indoors, to interacting with the beautiful outdoors that surrounds them – much like our ambition here at Head Outside. This is the main incentive for all of us avid campers – we all wish for the general public to fall in love with camping once again; especially as it seems to be a rarity in British families.

What’s the aim of NCCW?
As we mentioned earlier, the main incentive for NCCW is to encourage people to head outside and camp. We know how great camping is and clearly, so do The Camping and Caravanning Club. With their major annual campaign, this year’s main theme for NCCW is to encourage youngsters to head out and camp. Last year's theme was 'Get Kids Camping', and for this year, the theme remains the same; but reworded 'Get Kids Outdoors with Camping'. The NCCW 2016 theme gets a double thumbs up from us, the Head Outside team.

Join us in encouraging kids to get outside and camp
As you can probably tell, we love what NCCW stands for, and you can certainly count on us to be camping and encouraging campers from the 30^th of May to the 5^th of June and beyond. Although we’re a company who enjoys encouraging everyone to embrace camping, we have also always aimed to get children away from television screens and their mobile phones. It’s our mission to draw youngsters from behind closed doors and get them mesmerising over nature rather than TV shows, films and games. We hope that you’ll help us to get kids outdoors to admire nature and spend quality time with family and friends camping.

A last note on NCCW and The Camping and Caravanning Club
The Club’s roadshow team will be travelling up and down the UK with a pop-up campsite roadshow. Starting on the 30th of May, the pop-up campsite roadshow team will be in the Midlands at Twycross Zoo, and then they'll move to GulliversLand in Milton Keynes on the 31st. After that we enter June, and that's when the team head to Roald Dahl Plass in CardiffBay on the 2nd of June, and then finish up in Blair Drummond Safari and AdventurePark in bonnie Scotland on the 4th.
