About Banbury Meadow

Banbury Meadow is a tranquil glamping retreat managed organically as a nature reserve, situated on the village fringe of Butleigh, less than a 10-minute drive from the historic town of Glastonbury, overlooking Glastonbury Tor and within the ancient Vale of Avalon.

We are a small, responsibly run glamping retreat that will especially appeal to people with an interest in treading lightly on the earth and reconnecting with nature.

Banbury Meadow is a 'no children', 'no dogs' glamping experience, tailored to meet the peaceful requirements of our guests with access to a fully equipped kitchen, piping hot shower, sumptuous four-poster beds and cosy wood burners!

We can offer our guests the opportunity to experience the wealth and beauty of an ancient wildflower meadow with a breathtaking view of Glastonbury Tor, nestled within the Dove constellation of the Glastonbury Zodiac, including a stunning 180-degree view of the Mendip Hills and Somer... read more...

Helpful Directions

Take junction 23 towards Puriton, continue for 1 mile, then, at the bottom of the hill, turn left at the traffic lights towards Glastonbury, onto the Old Bath Road (A39).

Travel for 20 minutes to Walton (Main Street), then take the second exit at Sainsbury's roundabout onto Westway (A39) and continue on towards Glastonbury.

At the next roundabout, take the first exit onto the Causeway (A39) and then the Street Road (A39).

At a third roundabout, take the third exit onto the A361 and continue, past Morrison's, to a mini-roundabout, at which you will take the second exit (a right turn) up the hill towards Butleigh.

At the top of the hill, turn right onto the Butleigh Road and follow this road across the Levels until you reach a T-junction.

Turn left towards Butleigh Wooton (still on the Butleigh Road).

Continue towards Butleigh for 3 minutes. You will travel through the outskirts of the village and, just as you start to leave the village, you will see The Rose and Portcullis pub on your left.

Turn left immediately at the pub (onto Barton Road), continue for 500 metres, then take the second turning on your right, into Banbury Lane.

Banbury Meadow is the first (metal) field gate on your right.
