Wild Boar Wood Campsite is part of Pegs and Pitches Camping, two beautiful woodland campsites in Sussex. The site offers unique, off-grid "wild glamping" in fully-equipped, pre-erected bell tents. Campers can expect all the benefits of wild, woodland camping with open fires, birdsong, butterflies and den building but enjoy the comfort of a bell tent at the end of the day (if you prefer to pitch your own tent please look at our Beech Estate Woodland Campsite. The site's nine bell tents are set within a five-acre bluebell wood in the heart of Sussex and part of the High Weald, a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Tents are set in among the trees giving solitude and privacy from the outside world although its location in West Sussex, near Haywards Heath and the Ashdown Forest, means it is within easy reach of London and Brighton. The Wild Boar Wood Campsite is a hidden away location, off the beaten track.
Once your online booking is confirmed, we provide you with detailed instructions to locate the campsite and our car park. It’s then a short walk to the secret woodland campsite. We provide wheelbarrows to assist with any belongings you may have.
We also provide information on how to get to us by public transport.
We have an area for car parking which is a short walk away across the field. Cars may not be driven to your pitch. We aim to provide camping in the woods not in a car park. Wheelbarrows are provided to move your equipment to the pitch (and the warden will assist if you need it). It may be a 5 minute walk – but it’s worth it once you set up not to have cars in the campsite. Much safer for children as well!
Nearest Station: Haywards Heath (5 miles away). Trains run regularly from London Victoria and London Bridge and take approximately 40-45 mins. Trains from Brighton take 13-20 mins.
Taxi From Haywards Heath Station: About 12-15 minutes
Bus: The nearest bus stop is in the village of Horsted Keynes. Bus Route 270.
Walk: The walking distance from Horsted Keynes is approximately 1.5 mile.

Polices & Rules for Wild Boar Wood Campsite
Pay on booking.
Arrivals are between 3pm and 8pm. Departures are by 11am on weekdays and by midday on weekends. Earlier arrivals and later departures may be accommodated - please speak to the office or to the on-site wardens.
If you cancel more than 4 weeks before your arrival date you will lose your 50% of total non-refundable deposit payment. The remainder of any of your other payments made will be refunded.
If you cancel less than 4 weeks before your arrival date you will lose your full payment.
We will in all cases attempt to re-let your Bell Tent or Tent Pitch. If we are able to re-let for the whole period originally booked we will refund the balance of all payments less 25% (with a minimum of £20) administration fee and any credit or debit charges involved in payment process. If we are unable to re-let your Bell Tent or Tent Pitch the above conditions apply.
