Blog - Festivals on a budget

Set yourself a budget and stick to it

Find a max budget and make sure you stick to it, be reasonable and allow for a little over spend but we say around £100 to fully kit yourself out is enough.

Find a good quality tent

Buy a good quality tent so you can use it over and over again, we have all heard of people who leave their tent at the festival, but this can turn out to be a very expensive way if you are attending more than 2 or 3 festivals in the year.

You should properly spend around half your budget on your tent so around £50 so cover it.

If you wish you could buy a few extras including glow in the dark guide rope and LED pegs but these are not essential

Find a comfy sleeping bag

You will properly only get a few hours’ sleep a night so make sure you find a sleeping bag that is comfortable.

Find a sleeping bag that is easy to pack away and transport because we all know that the walk from the car park to the pitching site can be a long walk.

Avoid those unnecessary expenses

By pre booking your train tickets you can save yourself a heap load of money, National Rail and National Express are main travel providers and usually offer deals to major campsites and festivals.

Try and share a car where possible, this can save you money by splitting the cost of petrol and festival parking between all of the car occupants.

Buy everything you need before you go, most festivals do have their own camping shops on site, but if you don’t wish to pay the extraordinary prices then your best bet is to buy everything before you leave.

Go food shopping before you leave, save yourself lots of money by buying food and drink before you leave? They will have shops on site but same as above, they will charge very high rates.

Last but not least, share your belongs with friends. We all know that some people like to take the whole bathroom cupboard when they go camping so why not share some of your beauty products with friends.
